  • Who We Are

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Our strength lies in our exclusive focus and singular influence on the worldwide effort to end T1D. Vision: A world without type 1 diabetes Mission: Improving lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
  • What We Do

At JDRF, we're leading the fight against type 1 diabetes (T1D) by funding research, advocating for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and providing a support network for millions of people around the world impacted by T1D. We provide the Bag of Hope to newly diagnosed families. When a child receives a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes (T1D), it can be an overwhelming time. As you navigate this challenging period of adjustment to life with T1D, you can find helpful information and support through the JDRF Bag of Hope®. The Online Diabetes Support Team (ODST) is made up of compassionate volunteers who know firsthand the ever-changing demands of living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Contact us with your questions, and we will do our best to respond with an email within 48 hours (we are not medical or legal professionals and therefore cannot give medical or legal advice). These JDRF volunteers are available to answer your questions about T1D and get you through this difficult time. Don’t worry, you are not alone. T1D Connections Program: Receiving a T1D diagnosis can be a traumatic and an isolating experience, whether it’s you who is affected or someone you love. Your JDRF Outreach Volunteer can connect you with others in the T1D community who’ve been through similar experiences—and provide you with resources, advice and support.
